Google Maps update ties your photos, contacts, and destinations closer together

29.04.2016
With the weekend almost here, you’re bound to spend some serious time with Google Maps. Thankfully there are some new features to try out that might make any local or distant travel easier to handle.

One handy feature is that your contacts and their addresses will now show up in the Your Places section. This way if you are going to a friend’s house, you can go right to Maps to find their address instead of digging through your contacts.

Additionally, if you’re trying to boost up your level in Local Guides, you may know that adding photos is one of the best ways to do it. The screen that displays the pictures you took from where you visited has been reworked to make it easy to upload a batch of photos at once.

As part of Google’s efforts to make Maps a friendly sage, there are now more suggestions to be found on local pages. There’s also a toggle in the notifications that will ping you with updates about new Maps features that roll out to your area.

All of this is found in Google Maps version 9.25.1. It’s rolling out to the Google Play Store, or can be had now from APK Mirror.

The impact on you: Google Maps is about way more than just finding an address. Google continues to build the service into a tool for going about town or traveling, which gets smarter the more you’re willing to share your location, photos, and other key bits of data.
