CDs and DVDs are useful for installing or running software or storing data, but in other ways, they're problematic. They're easy to lose, can be easily damaged, tough to keep track of, and they often take a long time to load. ($35, 30-day free trial) solves the problem by letting you create "virtual CDs"--exact copies of the CDs--on your PC's hard disk. You can then use those CDs as you can a physical CD, by dragging it to a virtual drive Virtual CD creates.

Virtual CD does more than just letting you view the CDs and DVDs. You can also make copies of them by dragging them to a virtual burner or copy them to a USB drive as well. But those are extras. The real reason for getting this program is to make sure that you'll never lose a CD again, and never have a CD so damaged that you can no longer use it.

Given that, is it worthwhile to buy this Virtual CD If you have so many CDs that you have a hard time keeping track of them, or if you often damage your CDs to the point that they're not usable...then it's worth the price. But if you don't have those problems, there's little reason to part with your money.
