Website owners offered free speed test in the cloud

The SpeedoftheWeb service, says Compuware will help website owners increase revenues and reduce their operating costs through the benchmarking system.

SpeedoftheWeb provides a series of industry-relevant indexes using data from 1,000 of the world's busiest websites, covering areas like finance, healthcare, travel, retail, media, sports and others.

Web owners can compare themselves against these rankings and provide their web application and website development teams with detailed performance data and recommendations on how to speed up their own websites, Compuware said.

SpeedoftheWeb offers 15 key performance indicators for the web, expert recommendations and "immediate action paths" to improve web performance.

"With end-user expectations higher than ever the cost of poor website performance is huge, both in terms of lost revenues and brand loyalty," said Alois Reitbauer, Centre of Excellence for Web 2.0 and a mobile performance expert at Compuware APM (application performance management).
