Sega and High Voltage -- the dream team behind Wii shooter The Conduit -- announced a Greco-Roman mythology-themed fighting game for the Wii this week called Tournament of Legends (formerly known as Gladiator A.D.). We caught up with High Voltage CEO Kerry Ganofsky and CCO Eric Nofsinger for a little Q&A about their new title.

GamePro: What lessons did you learn from The Conduit to bring to Tournament of Legends -- both on the gameplay side and on the technical side of developing for the Wii

Eric Nofsinger: On the Conduit we learned that people really loved and appreciated the customization options. So naturally we brought that over to ToL in that you can customize your control scheme – even use the classic controller if you want. As for the technical side – we really were able bring a tight focus to two characters on screen and a bit smaller and more detailed environment. Both the level and character artists were able to craft unique and interesting characters and locales using techniques learned while making The Conduit. The Conduit’s use of our Quantum 3 engine gave us a good benchmark and allowed us to take what we had learned and really let our imaginations run wild.

GP: What's the inspiration for the setting and subject matter Did you guys watch The Clash of the Titans a whole bunch or are there some hardcore mythology fans on staff
