Adobe adds Apple Watch support to Creative Cloud iPhone apps

23.04.2015
Adobe has introduced Apple Watch support for three Creative Cloud apps for iPhone, on the assumption that digital creatives will make up a substantial number of early adopters for Apple's new device.

The company said that by adding the support to its Behance, Color CC and Creative Cloud apps, it was 'extending the creative process to the wrist'.

Adobe said the new release of Behance app for iPhone brings your Inbox, Notifications, My Work, and Nearby directly to your Apple Watch.

Users can remotely control Airplay presentations of their online portfolio from the watch to open a Behance project and step through the individual images of a project presentation.

Handoff allows users to move from Apple Watch to iPhone when they want to comment on a file or project, while the share dialog can post a link to Facebook, Twitter and other services.

The company said that designers get a lot of their best ideas not while sitting at desks, but from interacting with and observing the world around them. This was already the basis for bringing Color CC to the iPhone, but Adobe has extended the ubiquity of the app by adding Apple Watch compatibility.

Once paired with an Apple Watch, the app can use geo-location to reveal colour themes that were captured nearby.

Users can view the theme, name, distance, and map location of colours and swipe to see the ten most popular themes in the vicinity.

Users can also add new colour swatches to their Creative Cloud Libraries design assets as they are, or pass one to an iPhone for real-time adjustments.

Adobe said the Apple Watch update for the Creative Cloud app for iPhone offers effortless mobile to desktop workflows across devices and apps, enabled by Creative Profile and Creative Cloud Libraries.

The app now allows users to set up Apple Watch to monitor activity on shared Creative Cloud files, view and reply to comments on a file, and accept or decline invitations to collaborate.
