Android Pay irons out some kinks, including loyalty card recognition
Toward that effort, Google has pushed out some fixes and new features in version 1.1 of the Android Pay app.
There’s evidence that mobile payments have yet to really take off (it’s a fairly new technology, after all), so Google has added in a brief animation that describes how you actually use the thing. You can get to it from the overflow (top right) menu, where you select How to pay.
The most pesky bug that Google squashed was preventing some from accessing their loyalty cards imported from Google Wallet. The update should resolve this.
To further help those new to mobile payments, there’s a new See participating banks button, which zips you to the Android Pay site in Chrome. From there you can peruse who has signed on to support Google’s payments solution.
Version 1.1 is rolling out through the Play Store, or you can grab it from APK Mirror.
Why this matters: With many people yet to try out the mobile payment solution on their phone, bug fixes become all the more important. For those who are iffy about this tech in the first place, a glitchy experience could turn them off completely. Android Pay is still pretty new, so expect more fixes and features to come your way.
