Aruba Networks releases all-in-one Cloud controller

05.03.2015
Aruba Networks has unveiled a new all-in-one Cloud controller which consolidates branch IT functions into a single solution.

Aruba 7000 series Cloud Services Controllers eliminates the time, cost and complexity of managing disparate single-purpose point products in the branch, while enabling businesses to extract more value from existing cloud-based unified communication and firewall investments. The features include zero-touch provisioning, a programmable policy enforcement firewall, web content filtering, Microsoft Lync Mobile Unified Communications automatic integration and advanced routing.

Palo Alto Networks, senior vice president of business and corporate development, Chad Kinzelberg, said customers that have already invested in Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls and GlobalProtect could now extend their security policies to every single branch location without additional complexity.

"Aruba's integration with Palo Alto Networks extends safe application enablement and threat prevention to branches,"Kinzelberg said. In addition to extending unified communication capabilities from the data center to the branch, Aruba has improved performance and visibility for Microsoft Lync with Lync SDN API certification. Microsoft general manager, Lync/Skype for Business, Giovanni Mezgec, said reliably extending Lync unified communications to branch offices required both applying quality of service to latency-sensitive voice and video calls, as well as giving IT end-to-end visibility into Lync services for diagnostics and troubleshooting purposes.

"Aruba's Wi-Fi, switching, and SDN API solutions are Lync qualified, making them ideal for supporting hosted, on-premises, Lync Online, and Office 365 applications," Mezgec said.
