The PC version of the popular franchise will be the first AAA game to feature full eye tracking as a gameplay component. Assassin's Creed Rogue will come free with the SteelSeries Sentry which is the world's first gaming eye tracker. It costs 199 and supports other games including Dota 2 and StarCraft 2. "Eye tracking is such a natural way to interact with a game and creates tons of potential opportunities for gameplay immersion," said Corneliu Vasiliu, Producer at Ubisoft Kiev. "We are one of the first to integrate this technology in a video game, and the first to implement eye tracking as a gameplay input in a game of that scale - providing Assassin's Creed Rogue gamers with an entirely new, complementary input to the keyboard and mouse."

The firms are touting an 'infinite screen' experience thanks to the technology so it will no longer matter how big your screen is. Assassin's Creed Rogue will automatically pan around the environment as you look around.

Players can revert to traditional mouse input by simply grabbing it. The eye tracking technology will also cause the game to pause and resume automatically if the player looks away from the screen and then back.

"This is only the beginning of eye-tracking in gaming. It is an important step in Tobii's long term vision to create a strong ecosystem of games and apps that use eye tracking to create even more immersive experiences", said Oscar Werner, President of Tobii Tech, a division of Tobii.

Tobii Tech is not making any money directly from this integration but it hope it will drive sales in the long term.
