Bluechip Infotech leads national OKI printer rollout for Chemist Warehouse

11.02.2015
Distributor Bluechip Infotech is leading a national rollout of OKI printers across 24 Chemist Warehouse stores.

The rollout will include the deployment of 70 B411dn printers and 24 MB471dn multifunction printers to replace the retailer's current printers by June this year.

According to a company statement, they were selected following a comprehensive market review during which OKI was compared on both functionality and price against alternative market offerings.

Each store will deploy four OKI devices, three for the dispensary and one for back office requirements.

Digital Business Management, IT manager, William Lutz, said while the key features of the OKI devices were impressive alone in their overall speed, energy efficient and reliability, "at the end of the day OKI was almost $700 cheaper per device when compared to the incumbent."

"In addition, OKI comes with a robust three-year extended warranty," he said.

"The deployment is a match made in heaven with what we required and what OKI was able to provide." Lutz said the primary goal of the outlets was to achieve differentiation in a market place saturated with pharmacies claiming to be cheap, wholesale, and discounted.

"As with all our IT deployments, OKI will support our strategy in providing an exemplary in-store customer experience," he said. OKI Data Australia is a global manufacturer of business range printers.

The company commenced operations in Australia in 2009 following the acquisition from long-time master agent and distributor, IPL.
