Developers can now test their apps for Android N in the Google Play Store
Developer Preview 4 comes with all the features Google showcased at Google I/O, including multi-window, direct-reply notifications, and more. (If you need a refresher on what’s coming, we’ve got you covered.) But this finalized version of the beta also allows developers to publish their apps built via the various Play Store release channels, including alpha, beta, and production—the last of which would make the apps available to those running the Android N preview.
The story behind the story: This is the first time that Google’s allowed this sort of pre-release ability. It’ll enable those users who are running the latest developer preview to test backward compatibility and stability of any apps running API 24.
