Fix your iTunes Match music with iTunes update 12.2.1

13.07.2015
This could be a good way to start a Monday, especially if you're an iTunes Match user: Apple has released the iTunes 12.2.1 update. If you have iTunes Match, upgraded to iTunes 12.2 and had problems, this might be the update you need.

According to the company's release notes, 12.2.1 corrects a problem where iTunes Match music is labeled as Apple Music instead of Matched. It also, "Provides a way to correct a library problem affecting former iTunes Match Subscribers." There are also minor bug fixes for Beats 1 radio.

To get the update, launch the App Store on your Mac and click on Updates. You can also get the update within iTunes by selecting iTunes > Check for updates.

Macworld's iTunes Guy, Kirk McElhearn, reports that he applied the update, but he still has songs marked as Apple Music when they should be Matched, and his album artwork is still messed up.

The release notes say that if the update doesn't correct the Matched/Apple Music problem, you may need to remove the songs marked Apple Music and download them from your iTunes Match account.
