Free game alert: Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault is free through Origin's On the House

24.03.2016
If you wanted a free copy of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, I hope you grabbed it—the wheel in the sky kept on turning and Origin just swapped out its On the House promotion for yet another free game! This time around it’s 2004’s Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.

As you might expect, the game takes place in the Pacific, with the Origin page touting levels at Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, and Tarawa. Was it any good I don’t know. I’m sure I played it back in the day, but all the World War II games from that era sort of blend together at this point. Also, it came out in the wake of the first Call of Duty, which I think made a bigger splash at the time. (Yes, it’s been thirteen years since the first Call of Duty released.)

In any case, this B-tier Medal of Honor game is free-as-in-beer free. Head over to Origin, hit the “Download Now!” button and it’s tied to your account forever, whether or not you actually download it. As always, the caveat is that you need an Origin account to take advantage. If that’s anathema to your way of life, well, don’t complain about not getting free games from 2004.

As for how long this offer will last Origin’s been following a pretty steady month-and-a-half schedule for a while now, so probably until early May. But best to take advantage now, just in case.
