Google sets date and registration for I/O conference
The event, which draws developers from around the world, is set for May 28-29 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco. Registration will begin March 17 at noon ET and end at March 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
Only one registration application per person is allowed and people will be selected at random for the opportunity to buy one ticket, according to the company.
"Google I/O is two days of inspirational talks, hands-on learning, and a chance to hear more about Google's latest developer products," the company said on its website. "Join us to learn about product and platform innovations at Google, starting with a live kickoff from our Senior Vice-President of Products, Sundar Pichai."
So far, Google has not filled out its I/O schedule, so it's not clear who -- other than Pichai -- will be giving keynotes or sessions. There also scant information about what technologies -- like Android, search, Chrome, robots or Glass -- the company will focus on.
At Google I/O 2014 there was a lot of talk because company executives didn't focus on, or even discuss, Google Glass, its wearable prototype.
Last year, while the company shied away from Glass, robotics and smart homes, executives did focus on Android, Google TV, smart watches and even Android Auto.
