Government confirms data centre industry 'exists' for CCAs

04.07.2014

Andrew Jay, chairman of the Data Centre Council at techUK, said: "We are now recognised legally as key contributors to the UK's digital economy and an important sector in our own right. Gaining a CCA should help improve the energy performance and efficiency of our sector across the board."

The CCA stipulates that data centre operators will have to make a 30 percent reduction in their energy consumption by implementing a range of efficiency measures. This will help reduce their overall energy costs.
