How to get transit directions using Maps in iOS 9

25.09.2015
Apple Maps is catching up to Google Maps, finally adding public transit directions in the just-released iOS 9.

Alongside tabs to get directions via driving or walking, you can now select the “Transit” tab to get directions that incorporate public transportation, including local trains, subway systems, ferries, and buses. Apple wanted its Maps transit directions to be as accurate as possible, so it gives you step-by-step-directions right down to which entrance to use to enter a subway station.

Maps’ transit directions are only available in the following U.S. cities: Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. Internationally, you can use Apple Maps to get public transit directions in Mexico City, London, Berlin, and Toronto, as well as around 300 cities in China.
