Huawei launches new networking processor and L-band antenna
The 16nm, FinFET ARM64-based networking processor, Nova, supports GSM/UMTS/LTE FDD/LTE TDD on a single chip. Based on ARM64 architecture and the 16FinFET process, Nova is said to be 67 per cent more efficient than traditional processors and reduces the cost and required power for radio networks.
According to a company statement, operators will be able to access new modes through software upgrades. The all-in-one technology protects investments in hardware and significantly improves management efficiency. The firm said by achieving an optimal level of integration, the high capacity board simplifies site configuration and reduces power consumption.
Huawei also launched its L-band antenna that supports ultra wideband and multiband technology. In addition to the major frequency bands at 700/800/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz, the new antenna will enable deployment of the 1500 MHz band.
The firm said the antenna is effective at delivering mobile broadband services featuring strong capacity and large area coverage.
Huawei began research on L-band antenna development in 2014. It is the first company to release an UWB and multi band antenna to support all major frequency bands and L-band within a single product. Planned for initial implementation in Europe, the company claims the antenna will greatly assist operators in the rapid deployment of mobile broadband networks.
