Huawei Network Congress 2015: Business-Driven ICT Infrastructure enables the new tech revolution

21.05.2015
ICT company, Huawei Technologies, has introduced its guiding principle for the enterprise market to build Business-driven ICT Infrastructure (BDII).

This guiding principle will lead the way to the next industrial revolution by facilitating in-depth integration of ICT infrastructure development and software applications, development of innovative infrastructure, and joint innovation efforts with partners, according to Huawei Technologies president of enterprise business, Yan Lida.

He was speaking at a keynote session at the recent Huawei Network Congress 2015 in Beijing, China.

According to Lida, technology trends such as the Internet and mobility have changed the face of information flow, leading to a technology revolution that is due in the next decade. And the IoT will cause this technology revolution.

"By 2025, ICT will reach the third stage in its evolution. In the next 10 years, we believe it will be the center of a production system instead of being just a supporting system. It will consist of two systems -- one which will generate huge amounts of data, and the other, a Cloud based system that enables quick decision making."

Lida mentioned technologies including Big Data, social networking, the IoT, mobility, and the convergence of cyber and physical systems (CPS) will lead to this looming technological revolution.

"The three biggest economies in the world are Industrie 4.0 (Europe), the Industrial Internet (US), and China manufacturing 2025. The latest ICT technologies, as aforementioned, will present us with infinite opportunities," he said.

Lida claimed behind this technology revolution, there needs to be a new ICT architecture and infrastructure behind it. As such, BDII consists of three core components - to think with a business-driven mindset, facilitate joint innovation, and focus on ICT infrastructure.

And the company's channel partners are key to Huawei's build of BDII.

"As part of building BDII, Huawei will continue to focus on developing ICT infrastructure with an open structure through joint innovation. This will provide enterprises with more products and solutions to help drive business transformations, seizing opportunities presented by the new industrial evolution and adding value to support business success."

Lida said "Huawei Inside" is the most accurate description for the company's integrated strategy and reflects the spirit of joint innovation.

To achieve this, the company will deepen relationships through the launch of partnership plans and industrial alliances to create channels that will accelerate transformation.

"With the BDII guiding principle, Huawei will strengthen cooperation through enhanced strategic planning, technology development, market orientation, and talent cultivation," he added.
