Internet service provider, iiNet, is embracing the emerging tech trend The Internet of Things with a partnership with the AllSeen Alliance.

The AllSeen Alliance is a non-profit consortium dedicated to the adoption of products, systems and services that support the Internet of Everything with an open, universal development framework.

It is the broadest cross-industry consortium to date to advance adoption and innovation in the Internet of Everything in homes and industry.

The partnership will see iiNet play a role in influencing the customer experience in an increasingly connected world, according to a company statement.

As a member of the AllSeen Alliance, iiNet will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow members including Microsoft, LG, Panasonic, Sony and Sharp. iiNet's general manager corporate strategy, Brett Hutchison, said that being the first Australian ISP to join the Alliance further demonstrates the ISP's commitment to innovation and customer experience. "The Internet continues to provide a platform for innovation and we're seeing more and more evidence of a connected future," he said. "We're looking forward to collaborating with a group of like-minded companies to ensure the transition to a smart world is a positive experience for consumers.

"We'll throw our full support behind the work of the AllSeen Alliance as we continue to keep our finger on the pulse of developments in this space."
