Intel makes sweeping changes, Intel Security loses its independence

Intel Security has been formally integrated into Intel operations under the leadership of general manager, Chris Young, removing the last traces of the independent McAfee division it acquired in 2010.

It comes 18 months after the news broke that Intel would rebrand its McAfee security division as Intel Security.

In a statement, Intel Corporation said the integration would deliver better technologies for its customers and more effective operations that would enable Intel Security to advance the state of security across the industry.

In an extensive release, the Corporation also has announced that Intel President, Renée James, will step down to pursue an external CEO role.

James has agreed to stay at Intel until January in order to transition the Executive Office. She issued a message to employees about her plans. Other leadership and organisational changes that are being made to streamline operations and better position Intel for growth include:
