04.12.2014
Juniper Networks and VMware have announced details of their Cloud partnership, which is designed to push enterprises across APAC into private Cloud.

The strategy is an expansion of the two companies' global technology partnership that will share marketing, sales and products which allow the simple integration of VMware's NSX networking virtualisation platform with Juniper's Metafabric virtualised datacentre networking technology.

"Enterprises are looking to Software-Defined Data Centre (SDDC) technology and network virtualization as a means of easily deploying, managing and orchestrating private cloud networks. At Juniper, we believe customers will realize the greatest benefits when physical and virtual networks leverage each other's strengths," said Juniper Networks' vice president of systems engeineering and centre of excellence APAC, Russell Skingsley.

According to Technavio the market for private Cloud services is projected to grow by 22 per cent across 2013-2018. A Frost and Sullivan Survey of CIOs showed that their greatest concerns included management of virtual infrastructures, and network latency.

"While it is no secret that the entire IT landscape is undergoing a dramatic shift toward mobile applications delivered from the Cloud, nobody should underestimate the challenge this represents to datacentre operations. Together with Juniper Networks, we have a strong focus on addressing data center complexity by leveraging the power of network virtualization to radically simplify IT, while delivering services at the speed of today's business," said VMware's senior vice president and general manager APAC, Sanjay Mirchandani.

Juniper and VMware are pushing the interoperability of their hardware and services technologies as a key selling point, alongside the development of a proof-of-concept lab for customers to see the products in action, and joint marketing and sales programs across APAC.
