LG G4 goes on sale, Telstra, Optus and co offer freebies

01.07.2015
LG's flagship G4 has gone on sale with carriers and retailers offering freebies to anyone who places an order.

Three weeks living with the G4 has us convinced it is a worthy smartphone flagship. Optus, Telstra and Harvey Norman will be ranging the smartphone and are rewarding customers who place an order ahead of the 14 July in-store sales date.

Here's what's on offer so far:

Optus

The first 100 customers who place an order with Optus will have the G4 bundled with the Watch Urbane. This is LG's premium smartwatch timepiece and it has a retail price of$479.

Optus is pitching a $72 a month cost for the G4 over 24 months, which works out to be monthly phone repayments of $12 on its $60 My Plan Plus. This works out to be more expensive than Samsung's Galaxy S6, which has a monthly handset repayment of $9 per month.

Optus pre-orders start today online and will commence in store from 6 July.

Harvey Norman is offering the first 500 customers who pre-order a G4 a Tech Data 64GB microSD card. The value of the microSD card is $59, but its addition to the G4's 32GB of storage pushes it to 96GB.

The retailer is stocking the brown leather variant for $928 and the metallic grey for $877, with pre-orders starting on 1 July.
