Nvidia “Bullets or Blades” bundle packs in brand-new Ubisoft games

06.10.2015
With the holidays fast approaching Nvidia is sweetening the deal on some 900-series graphics cards with upcoming Assassin’s Creed or Rainbow Six titles.

The so-called “Bullets or Blades” bundle includes your choice of either Assassin’s Creed Syndicate or Rainbow Six Siege. The former has a November 19 release date on PC, while the latter is scheduled for December 1.

To get the free game, you must buy an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti, GTX 980, or GTX 970 graphics card, or a gaming laptop with a GTX 970M or higher discrete graphics. Nvidia hasn’t formally announced the deal yet, but it’s already popping up at custom PC shops. AVADirect says it will offer the bundle until December 14, while WCCFTech reports an end date of January 5.

It’s not unusual for Nvidia to bundle its graphics cards with new releases. Previously, the chip maker has offered bundles with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Check out PCWorld’s previews of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Rainbow Six: Siege for more on what the latest bundles entail.

Meanwhile, AMD has been fairly quiet on the bundle front since kicking off a Dirt Rally bundle on Newegg earlier this year. That deal remains available with some cards for now, but we’ll have to see if AMD refreshes its much more impressive Never Settle bundle or tries something different.

Why this matters: Of course, your choice of graphics card shouldn’t be dictated by bundles alone (and we’d point out that AMD’s Radeon R9 390X and 390 cards edge out Nvidia’s GTX 980 and 970 on performance). But if you’re planning on buying Ubisoft’s latest blockbusters anyway, you can go ahead and factor that $60 savings into your graphics card budget.
