OnePlus's OxygenOS update includes dual SIM bug fixes and a little holiday cheer

21.12.2015
OnePlus has honored its promise to keep up on software updates. The company has started rolling out an update to its forked version of Android, Oxygen OS 2.2.0, to the OnePlus 2.

The software update includes a variety of security patches and bug fixes, including a fix for a bug associated with the photo sphere and panorama abilities in the Google Camera app. There’s also a fix for an ongoing issue with dual SIM card selection, where the OnePlus 2 had issues switching between the default SIM and the secondary one. And, as an added bonus, the update includes a batch of OnePlus-made holiday wallpapers to dress up your device with a little holiday spirit.

OnePlus has published the full change log for OxygenOS 2.2.0. Fixes include:

The rollout is incremental. OnePlus asks that you “please be patient if you don’t get it right away.” If you’re rooted, you can flash the OTA update yourself.

Why this matters: OnePlus’s Oxygen OS is one of the better-looking Android forks out there, and it’s refreshing to see the company committed to keeping its devices updated. It’s especially important to see third-party Android device makers committed to software updates given Google’s insistence that its OEM partners commit to monthly security updates.
