Optus Business and Cisco extend Australian partnership
The company said in statement that the Data Virtualisation tools, coupled with Optus’ Cloud capabilities, enable Optus Business customers to benefit from agile data integration software that makes it easy to query all types of data across the network, as if it were all in a single place.
This allowed customers to draw better insights, and ultimately, adapt more quickly to fast-changing business conditions. This could all be done without having to physically move any data, Optus said.

Data virtualisation’s streamlined approach reduces complexity and saves money, due to the reduction of data replication and consolidation,” Optus Business head of business applications and solutions, Jennie McLaughlin, said.

We look forward to continuing to support Optus’ growth as an end-to-end ICT provider,” Cisco director, partner business group, Jason Brouwers, said.
Integrating with Optus Business’ existing Intelligence and data analytics tools, the Cisco Data Virtualisation technology will enable customers to collate structured and unstructured data, from the transactional to social. This leads to better understanding of customer experience.
The technology also addresses critical data management and storage complexities, such as security and agility, ensuring significantly improved speeds against traditional data integration. Even more critically, it makes the data available to multiple user profiles. Users are empowered with instant access to data they want, when they want it.

Optus Business currently has eight certified Cisco Data Virtualisation engineers, with several others set to commence the technical training.
This news builds on a long-standing partnership between the two organisations, and grows Optus Business’ capabilities as an end-to-end, integrated ICT provider. The announcement also follows recognition of Optus Business as Cisco’s ANZ Partner of the Year in April 2015, as well as its adoption into Cisco’s InterCloud Program earlier this year.
