Steve Wozniak to help judge 'most disruptive CIO'

12.08.2015
Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, will join Sir Richard Branson as a judge at this year's Talent Unleashed Awards on September 11.

The event -- organised by technology recruitment firm, Talent International -- has also added a new awards category this year, 'Most Disruptive CIO/CTO.'

This award will recognise the technology chief who has achieved amazing results at their company through a disruptive or transformative approach to technology strategy.

Talent International MD, Richard Earl, said the new category recognises the growing necessity for individuals in these roles to innovate their business systems and harness technology to grow and survive.

Wozniak and Branson, who also judged the awards last year, will join high profile technology and entrepreneurship experts during this year's ceremony.

Judges will choose the best startups (community or social impact and environmental impact), best digital consultancy, and best tech IPO/venture capital raising.

Wozniak said he was looking forward to "checking out the best startups, the most disruptive organisations and the boldest and most visionary leaders."

Australian entrepreneurs Amber Blumanis, creator of the Stopover app and Philip Andrews, cofounder of Liquid State, both won awards last year.

This year, two winners will be given the chance to travel to Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island.

Entries for this year's awards close on Monday, 17 August.
