Tibco jump-starts integration in the cloud with two new tools

13.10.2015
Aiming to help organizations make the most of the cloud as they create and deploy enterprise apps, Tibco on Tuesday announced two new integration platforms: one for enterprises, and one aimed at mid-market firms.

First, Tibco BusinessWorks Container Edition is a new, streamlined version of the company's flagship product that's designed for use by large organizations and is available as a buildpack for easy deployment, upgrading and operation within the Pivotal Cloud Foundry environment.

Users can provision to a Cloud Foundry environment with just a few commands, thereby significantly reducing deployment times, Tibco said. For companies with sensitive data or in heavily regulated industries, meanwhile, the tool also offers workload control flexibility, allowing them to provision information in a cloud or on-premise setting of their choosing.

Tibco Cloud Integration, on the other hand, is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) that's designed to offer integration via the cloud for mid-market businesses.

Developers can use the technology to create and extend APIs without having to involve IT staff, Tibco said. The subscription-based service can be used as a standalone product or as part of a hybrid integration mix.

Tibco BusinessWorks Container Edition will be generally available in the fourth quarter of this year. The Cloud Integration product will be available in November through an early adopters program. Pricing details were not announced.
