Watch Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs in first trailer for Aaron Sorkin's new film

18.05.2015
People parked in front of the TV during Sunday night's series finale of Mad Men caught the first glimpse of screenwriter Aaron Sorkin's long-awaited Steve Jobs biopic called, appropriately, Steve Jobs. The film hits theaters Oct. 9.

The trailer is more of a tease than anything at a minute long, and doesn't give away any plot points (though Sorkin's script leaked earlier this year, if you're dying to know what it's about). But we do see Michael Fassbender as Jobs, complete with black turtleneck and glasses, on stage at an Apple event, and hear him defending his role as a visionary.

"Artists lead and hacks ask for a show of hands," he yells.

We also see Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Jeff Daniels as John Sculley, and Kate Winslet as Macintosh developer Joanna Hoffman, who was famous for standing up to Jobs and his "reality distortion field." (If you want to see the real Hoffman being stern with Steve, fast forward to the 10:30 mark in this classic video.)

With an all-star cast and Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle at the helm, Steve Jobs might be the one film about the Apple CEO worth watching. After all, Sorkin managed to turn the story of how Facebook was founded into riveting cinema with The Social Network, so anything is possible.
