Amazon's next cloud conference set for October in Las Vegas

04.03.2015
IT professionals with skills in Amazon Web Services will once again swarm Las Vegas come October.

Amazon will hold its next annual cloud services conference, re:Invent, from October 6 to October 9.

As has been the case since the event's debut in 2012, the venue will be the Venetian, a spacious hotel and conference facility.

Registration will open at some point in May. To be notified of the specific date, interested parties can sign up now on the conference Website.

The event has grown along with AWS usage, attracting over 13,000 attendees last year, up from 9,000 attendees in 2013. Amazon hasn't said how many people it expects at this year's conference.

AWS head Andy Jassy led the opening keynote last year and in 2013, extolling the virtues of moving enterprise operations to the cloud and taunting competitors such as IBM and Microsoft for their "hybrid cloud" solutions.

The company has also used the event to unveil new services, which attendees could then investigate in greater depth at technical sessions.
