Apple introduces 3D titles in Final Cut Pro 10.2, out now

13.04.2015
Final Cut Pro is the go-to Mac app for serious Hollywood filmmakers, but the powerful video-editing software is getting easier to use for amateurs, too. Apple released Final Cut Pro 10.2 and updates to companion aps Motion and Compressor on Monday with easy-to-use tools for 3D effects in title creation, faster video editing, and packing movies for sale in the iTunes Store.

The updates are available today in the Mac App Store as free updates for existing users, or $300 for Final Cut Pro 10.2, and $50 each for Motion 5.2 and Compressor 4.2.

The major Final Cut Pro upgrade includes 3D titles, better masking tools for effects and color grading, GPU-accelerated RED RAW processing (even dual GPU support for Mac Pros), and adds support for video formats like Panasonic AVC-Ultra and Sony XAVC-S. You can now optimize RED RAW files 2.5 times faster than in the previous version of Final Cut Pro, The Next Web noted.

Motion 5.2 tag-teams Final Cut Pro with the 3D title tools, plus packs in 12 new generator effects, mask and shape controls, and keyframing.

Compressor 4.2 helps you create an iTunes Store Package for sale: All you have to do is pick the movie, trailer, and closed captions, then Compressor does the work of packaging and delivering it.
