HTC wants you to 'meet the new Marshmallow' on Oct. 20

30.09.2015
HTC is set to launch its first Android Marshmallow-equipped smartphone.

The company sent out invites to a “virtual launch event” for October 20 at noon EST. Details were slim, though HTC promised this would be “not your traditional smartphone.”

The subject line of the email sent to press members also declared: “Meet the new Marshmallow from HTC.”

Superlatives aside, anyone will be able to watch the unveiling from HTC’s site. We’ll have our eyes on it also to find out what the company has worked up to try and turn around its sagging smartphone business.

The story behind the story: HTC is in serious financial trouble, and it’s One M9 phone left a lot to be desired. According to the latest leaks HTC’s next phone could look a lot like the iPhone, so we’ll have to see if there is anything else Earth-shattering about what HTC wants to show off.
