Touchjet Wave turns your living room television set into a giant Android tablet

08.01.2016
There’s always some company doing something extraordinarily odd or different with Android. At CES, TouchJet is demonstrating the Wave, a device that hooks on to the top of your television and turns it into a giant Android tablet. The device connects to any TV with HDMI and uses a mix of infrared technology, sensors, and what TouchJet calls its Light Processing Unit (LPU) to track your finger movements on screen. You can also add on a camera and dual-stereo microphones for video chats.

The TouchJet Wave uses its own launcher on top of Android KitKat and offers full access to the Google Play Store. The company said it’s still working on some of the logistics of the interface before the product goes on sale later this year.

The Wave will be available for $199 this spring, with the option to add on the Wave camera and microphone for a mere $39. You can find out more about the gadget at its official Indiegogo page.
