New Nvidia freebie bundles The Witcher 3 with GeForce graphics cards

In need of a new graphics card Pumped for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Well, smart consumer, what if I told you that you could get both at the same time

Nvidia announced Tuesday that it's giving away copies of The Witcher 3 with the purchase of a GeForce GTX 960, 970, or 980 graphics card from now until...sometime. Despite the bundle's cringeworthy name (the "Undeniably Epic" bundle) this is a hell of a good deal--especially since AMD retired its "Never Settle" free game bundle for Radeon cards earlier this year.

Nvidia's bundling The Witcher 3 with its graphics card because the game uses Nvidia's GameWorks effects, "including HBAO+, HairWorks, and PhysX." Yes, this is that point where you find out Geralt's hair will be simulated with the power of Nvidia's TressFX competitor. Oh, how I long to watch those long, flowing locks bounce around as I murder some monsters to death. </sarcasm>

All joking aside, The Witcher 3 does look pretty darn impressive, both in graphics and gameplay.

One thing to note: Obviously the GTX 960 plus Witcher 3 bundle is the cheapest of the bunch, considering a 960 runs about $210. Subtract the cost of a $60 game, it's like you're buying a 960 for $150. The game's minimum spec requirements call for a 2.5-year-old GTX 660 so the just-released GTX 960 should run it okay--but since CD Projekt Red's games have a reputation for kicking graphics cards in the teeth, you might consider a more powerful GTX 970 or 980 (if you can afford it) to see Geralt's adventure in its full graphics glory.

Regardless, it's a sweet deal if you're in the market. Make sure you purchase your card from a participating retailer listed at this site to take advantage of the offer. And if you can't decide which card to buy, our own Brad Chacos tested all of them extensively. (Radeons too!) He suffered so you don't have to.
