21.07.2015
Payment gateway, eWay is launching its own mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution after signing a licensing agreement with Mint Payments for its card present' capability.

This will give eWay's merchants the ability to accept a range of card payments including Visa, MasterCard and EFTPOS through payment methods such as Apple Pay, contactless, chip and pin, and magnetic swipe.

Mint will derive ongoing revenues from monthly, merchant service, transaction and hardware fees.

eWay's mPOS solution will consist of its mobile application integrated with Mint's software application and card reader hardware.

The partnership will span across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

eWay CEO, Matt Bullock, said about 42 per cent of all face-to-face transactions are processed using EFTPOS cards.

"This marks eWay's expansion into the lucrative omnichannel space by allowing our 20,000 plus merchants to accept card payments using Mint's mPOS solution," Bullock said.
