Playstation Plus subscribers get to vote for a free Playstation 4 game

13.08.2015
If you're a Playstation 4 owner who is also a Playstation Plus (PS+) subscriber, this post is for you.

Playstation Plus, for the uninitiated, is a service that is required in order to play games online on the PS4. It also offers discounts and free games on the PS4, PS3 and Playstation Vita. I've been a member for a long time and for Playstation 3 owners the service has definitely been worth it (and you don't even need PS+ to play online on the PS3). You get a lot of good free PS+ games on PS3.

The free game selection has been a lot spottier on the PS4, probably because the PS4's library isn't (yet) as deep as that of the PS3.

Now Sony is shuffling the blame (or the credit) for the PS+ free game offerings over to the users. Starting today we're being asked to vote for which game we want to be free in September. There are three candidate games and whichever gets the most votes between today and August 24th, 2015 will be one of our freebies next month.

In order to vote, you have to log into the Playstation Store from your PS4, and head to the PS+ section.

The three games this month are Armello (the game you should vote for, in my opinion), Grow Home and Zombie Vikings. To get an idea of what these games are about, I'll embed their pitch videos. Honestly I don't think there's a bad choice in the bunch. (Still though...Armello, OK)

The good news is that there are no losers here, because while one game will be free, the other two will be offered at a discount to PS+ subscribers.
