Samsung announces two sexy new finishes for the Gear S2

No one wants to wear a cheap-looking smartwatch—especially not if they're paying hundreds of dollars for it. Samsung is not only aware of this, but is constantly attempting to establish itself as a luxury brand, so it makes sense that the company updated its Gear S2 line with two new finishes. You can soon purchase the Gear S2 Classic in 18-karat rose gold or shiny platinum.
The rose gold variant of the Gear S2 Classic looks to cater more towards the female crowd, while the platinum variant looks better suited on a male wrist. Both watches feature the same specifications as their regular, polymer-banded predecessors, including a 1.2-inch rounded Super AMOLED display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, and a 250mAh battery pack. The Gear S2 Classic is also water- and dust-resistant, and Samsung says that both devices will be compatible with Samsung Pay later in the year. Pricing and availability will also be announced at a later date.
