HP unveils ProLiant Gen9 Tower servers for small business
The new HP ProLiant Gen9 Tower servers are designed to provide small businesses with affordable performance and efficiency.
While the latest storage offerings, which include flash, data protect and enhanced file solution have been created to give mid-sized companies the ability to cost-effectively increase performance and reduce risk.
HP ProLiant Gen9 Tower servers are designed to run general purpose workloads and essential applications, such as IT infrastructure, collaboration, web and business applications to support current and future business needs.
HP director and general manager, server and converged system, enterprise group, South Pacific, Raj Thakur, said the ProLiant Gen9 servers, together with the services and support expertise from channel, could help small businesses enhance competitiveness and achieve better business outcomes.
The release includes the ProLiant ML10 v2 -- an entry-level 10 Series tower server with low acquisition cost.
There is also the ProLiant ML110 Gen9 -- a 100 Series tower server with more memory, hard disk drives and I/O expansion for growing business IT needs.
It is also optimised compute for SMB physical and virtual workloads and applications.
The HP ProLiant Tower servers are incorporated into certain HP Just Right IT solutions for SMBs.
These pre-defined solutions include HP servers, storage, networking, and services configured with proven applications from HP partners.
HP ServiceOne partners also deliver support experience for SMBs with HP Foundation Care and HP Proactive Care.
HP Foundation Care provides support to keep IT environments up and running.
HP Proactive Care provides additional level of support that helps prevent issues and provides rapid access to advanced technical experts when there is an issue.
As the SMBs compute requirements grow, the HP ProLiant Tower servers have room to accommodate additional HP Qualified Options, such as hard drives, memory, storage controllers and network adapters.
The HP ProLiant ML110 Gen9 and the HP ProLiant ML10 v2 are available to order on April 1, 2015 from authorised HP distributors and channel partners in Australia.
Local pricing will be announced closer to the date.
Flexible investment solutions and financing options are available through HPFS to provide authorised partners and customers with an easy way to acquire the HP ProLiant ML10 v2 and HP ProLiant ML110 Gen9 servers and refresh over time.
The company has also launched new storage offerings for mid-sized companies.
For customers looking at hybrid flash storage, it is now offering a new HP StoreVirtual Storage system which is 12 times faster than an equivalently priced spinning media array.

Additionally, HP is now helping customers protect data with a more scalable HP StoreOnce Backup appliance and new HP StoreEasy.
HP general manager, storage, South Pacific, Paul Shaw, said the demand for rapid response to changing conditions is crucial for businesses of all sizes, but for mid-sized companies, access to required storage capabilities can be just out of reach.
"At HP, we're working with channel partners to simplify storage infrastructure and accelerate growth for customers by bringing hot technologies such as flash storage down into the entry segment," he said.
HP has also released a new StoreVirtual 4335 hybrid flash array that uses the latest SSDs and Adaptive Optimisation tiering functionality to deliver 12 times the performance with more than 90 percent power and footprint savings per 2-node cluster than a spinning disk configuration.
The system is compatible with and shares the same management experience as other StoreVirtual-based solutions, including the HP StoreVirtual Virtual, Storage Appliance (VSA), HP ConvergedSystem 200-HC StoreVirtual hyper-converged appliances, and the built-in storage within HP Helion OpenStack.
Common data services, such as replication for disaster recovery and online data migration between storage pools, provide 100 percent interoperability and flexibility to mix and match deployments.
According to a company statement, channel Partners can easily introduce mid-sized businesses to hybrid flash storage with the specially priced, 2-node HP StoreVirtual 4335 Hybrid SAN bundle at a 30 percent saving(1.
Utilising HP Peer Motion, customers can seamlessly move workloads to the new hybrid StoreVirtual cluster with only a few clicks and zero application disruption.
HP has also upgraded its StoreOnce Backup family to better accommodate the needs of small and medium-sized businesses.
Built on the same foundation as the flagship HP StoreOnce 6500 Backup appliance, the new entry-level StoreOnce 2900 protects up to 70 TB of data in a single, 12-hour window and restores up to 41 TB in the same period.
The scalable, entry-level HP StoreOnce 2900 Backup appliance offers customers twice as much backup capacity(3) and 30 percent better performance than competitive systems at 23 percent lower cost.
Customers can start small but grow to 31.5 TB of usable capacity in a space-saving 2U footprint.
The system is also fully compatible with HP StoreOnce Recovery Manager Central for simple, hypervisor-managed data protection of HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage arrays.
For smaller customers looking for a completely software-defined backup appliance, the HP StoreOnce Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA) can be run within a virtual machine without any need to purchase additional hardware.
HP StoreOnce VSA provides de-duplicated disk backup features alongside application-based virtual machines on virtual servers running VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Linux KVM.
The HP StoreOnce 2900 Backup appliance is available in late March for AU$35,845.
While the expansion kit adds 16TB of usable capacity and is available for AU$20,680.
The new StoreVirtual 4335 Hybrid SAN Solution 2-Node bundle providing 12.4 TB of usable capacity (before network RAID) is available immediately, starting at $83,053.
The StoreEasy 1450 with 4TB of raw capacity starts at $9,174. HP StoreEasy 1450, 1650 and 1850 are available March 30.
