PC gaming is finally getting a dedicated E3 event
E3 is, by and large, a console show. Microsoft and Sony trot out all the year's biggest games, trying to convince you that the future of gaming is in the living room. We're left to pick at the scraps, saying "This is coming to PC too! We swear!"
But we faithful know the PC is still king, and the folks over at PC Gamer (with the help of AMD) are helping to prove it. Tuesday during E3 we're going to have yet another press conference to attend--this one focused exclusively on the PC. It's dubbed PC Gaming Show.
In addition to AMD, a smattering of other PC-focused devs will be on hand: Paradox, Cloud Imperium, Tripwire, Devolver, Humble, Blizzard, and Bohemia Interactive. Dean Hall (of DayZ fame) and Cliff Bleszinski (Unreal Tournament, Gears of War) will also be a part of the presentations. Presumably some games will be announced--Paradox, at least, has been hinting they're revealing something at the show.
"We think a show like this, which brings together people from every corner of PC gaming to celebrate the exciting things happening, is long overdue," wrote PC Gamer's global editor-in-chief Tim Clark in the official announcement.
And to be honest, we couldn't agree more.
The PC Gaming Show will take place at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 16. It'll also be live-streamed on Twitch. This is just the latest new press conference this year, joining Bethesda and Square Enix as newcomers on an E3 stage--as well as E3 veterans Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, and EA.
