DVSA hires UCAS technology chief to roll out new MOT system
Previously the Director of IT at universities applications organisation UCAS, Munson will now work as the IT Director at the 4,000 strong agency which was formed in April 2014 following the merger of the Driving Standards Avency and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency, and which also makes sure buses and lorries meet roadworthiness standards and road safety regulations.
The former GE, Hitachi and PwC IT professional will also oversee the organisation's IT transformation programme. The DVSA said that under Munson's leadership, a new MOT IT system will be rolled-out to over 20,000 garages this year.
He said: "I am very pleased to be taking up this role, particularly at this time. The agency has been through a significant period of change and has reached an exciting phase in its development. IT transformation is pivotal to that progression, and I look forward to the challenges of our ambitious IT agenda."
