Europe's Top 50 growing 'pre-exit' technology companies unveiled

23.03.2015
The Tech Tour Growth 50, a list of Europe's fastest growing pre-exit high-tech companies has been released, with 18 of them having started life in the UK before European or global expansion.

The list relies on data from Dow Jones VentureSource and Go4Venture Advisers and aims to pinpoint which companies have the best chance of becoming multi-billion dollar companies.

Half the list consists of business to consumer ecommerce firms, with also good representation from financial technology companies, a few foreign payment transfer firms and some that do business services.

The Tech Tour Growth 50 had a median company foundation age of 2007, so there's not many true startups in the list.

William Stevens, managing director of Tech Tour, said: "We are building more and bigger tech companies in Europe at a faster rate than ever. The multi-billion dollar success stories that grab our attention via public market listings or sales to much larger companies are, however, just the tip of the iceberg.

"Through the Tech Tour Growth 50 we wanted to shine a light on the rest of Europe's high-tech, high-growth businesses. In the last decade Tech Tour Growth 50 Companies alone have created over 15,000 tech jobs."

Jean-Michel Deligny, managing partner at Go4Venture Advisers, said: "We combined the quantitative rigour of using multiple data sources for valuation, sales growth and financing information with the qualitative insight of a selection committee of leading investors and advisers.

"We backed this up by asking CEOs and investors to supply in confidence supplementary information on financial growth plus softer growth metrics such as staffing levels, new customers, new products and new markets. We want the Tech Tour Growth 50 to become a reference tool for all those interested in up and coming European tech companies."

The Tech Tour Growth 50 Companies are:
