Public beta testers, time to upgrade: New versions of iOS 9 and El Capitan are here
What's new: Apple brought back Home Sharing in the second public beta of iOS 9, which means you can stream your iTunes library on any Apple device on your Wi-Fi network. The disappearance of Home Sharing in iOS 8.4 was greeted with outrage from users who don't want to use Apple Music, which also allows you to stream music to any Apple device. Apple said it was "known bug," and the fix is in--at least for beta testers. This beta version also supports the new iPod touch.
There are a few other tweaks, like a slightly different Handoff view for multitasking, picture-in-picture support for video podcasts on the iPad, plus much more.
El Capitan's second public beta includes bug fixes that are a little more under-the-hood, but if you see anything major, we want to know. Both public beta versions of iOS 9 and El Capitan mirror the current developer betas, which were released earlier this week.
How to upgrade: If you have the first beta installed, you can upgrade to the second beta of iOS 9 the same as you would any other over-the-air update by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
