Get your GearVR ready: Samsung's Galaxy S7 launch will stream in virtual reality

Samsung wants to let you get up close and personal with the new Galaxy S7. The company plans to livestream the phone's February 21 launch event at Mobile World Congress in virtual reality, though you don’t need actually a set of goggles to get a unique view.

If you want to see the event from multiple camera angles on stage, you can grab the Unpacked 360 View app for Android and iOS and watch the big show.

The Galaxy Unpacked event will begin streaming on February 21 at 7 p.m. (CET). If you have a Samsung Gear VR headset and want the full VR, experience, then grab the Unpacked 360 View app from the Oculus Store.

You’ll also be able to watch the Samsung extravaganza on your PC by heading to the official Galaxy Unpacked page

The virtual reality experience may be about more than just phone promotion. Recent rumors hint that Samsung may unveil a 360-degree camera. If the Gear 360 shows up on stage, get ready to hear about how such enhanced photography will bring immersive content to Samsung's VR efforts.
